QUESTIONS FROM READERS (June Edition)

QUESTION FROM READER:

How do you get inspiration for your landscape? We want to create several gardens in our yard but are unsure which plants to put together.

GL365 RESPONSE:

Dear Reader,

We’ve always drawn inspiration from our own creativity. We’ve self-taught through trial and error, ultimately finding the “right” combination of plants for our gardens. But is there really a right or wrong combination of plants?

While, yes, there are plants that pair better with other plants, we encourage creativity. It’s your garden, so if you like it, that’s all that matters. However, we understand that most people don’t want to spend the extra time or money figuring out what works.

With that said, you can find inspiration by using themes. You can use color schemes or pair perennial or seasonal plants together. You can also use different garden styles, such as cottage, rose, or formal gardens. Also, looking at other landscapes in various communities is another way to draw inspiration. Although, we know even with these suggestions, determining which plants to use or how to design a garden is still a challenge.

It is possible to create your own garden and landscape. But there are many things to consider. Factors such as which plants to pair, space, light, etc., must be considered.

Since we know many people prefer to follow tested ideas that work, we will be launching a new service. This service should make it easier for people who want to design their own landscape but don’t know where to start. We will offer templates for do-it-yourself grass care and garden design. Custom grass care and garden plans will also be an option. Check back soon, or sign-up below for updates.

Enter your email to receive weekly posts, notifications, and updates about this service and much more!
