FINAL FALL CLEAN UP

Fall is coming to an end, and winter is quickly approaching. If your climate permits, we recommend a final fall clean-up since most of your fall projects, like seeding and planting, should be complete. Keep in mind, different regions experience seasonal weather changes at varying times. So, be mindful of the conditions in your area to ensure projects are completed at the proper times. Here are a few tips to keep your yard looking beautiful through the winter.

If you aerated and planted grass, you have probably cut your new lawn at least once. If not, you should mow your lawn and pull any grass that may have sprouted in garden beds when spreading the seed. Next, spread a fall/winter fertilizer that is high in potassium. A high potassium formula gives your lawn the nutrients it needs to stay strong throughout the colder months and keeps it green through the season.

It’s also a good time to prune trees and shrubs that require fall and winter trimming, especially deciduous plants. These plants are often easier to shape when they are dormant. Finally, you should dig up any out-of-season annual plants and replace them with beautiful fall and winter plants to keep your yard looking amazing.
