SEASONAL WREATH IDEAS

Over the years, wreaths have become a decoration for more than just holidays. Wreaths are actually a great way to bring color and personality to your front door. You can use a single wreath year-round or switch it up each season. However, often you choose to change your wreaths, you can have fun with the endless possibilities. Check out our wreaths used to decorate during each season.

All of the wreaths shown were purchased. But, making wreaths is also an option that is perfect for winter, especially if you can’t get outside. This popular creative activity allows you to make wreaths from scratch or add materials to wreaths you’ve already purchased.

While we have made our own wreaths, we prefer to buy them. We’ll either use them as is or adjust them by adding or removing items to make them more personal or appealing to us. For example, we bought the brown cone wreath then added the red bow and letter J that we painted black and white. We also bought the green wreath with the cranberries. But, we added the butterflies and gold leaves for more color.

If making wreaths from scratch sounds appealing, there are a few basic items you’ll need:

(As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases).

  • Wreath Frames – they come in different shapes, sizes, and materials. Classic wire and grapevine materials are popular.
  • Floral Wire – paddle and stem wires are popular and come in colors to match your wreath and accessories.
  • Floral Tape
  • Wire Cutters
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Eye protection
  • Gloves

Wreath-making kits are also available and include a variety of items listed above. These kits are a good option if you don’t have many items listed and prefer not to buy tools separately.

All other materials are optional and depend on the type of wreath you want to make. Decorations like faux or dried flowers, leaves, stems, pinecones, ribbons, deco mesh, and more are available. You can find these items at crafts stores or online retailers.
