Now that we’ve gained extra daylight setting our clocks forward (where applicable), there’s no excuse not to complete spring to-dos. If you haven’t been able to get outside during the winter, you’ll definitely want to start with a spring clean-up. Check back in the next few weeks for more items to complete. In the meantime, here are the top three tasks to focus on now:
1. Remove weeds in the garden and tree beds. Over the winter, weeds may have crept in, or grass seed may have been accidentally spread into these areas. Removing these unsightly items will give your yard a cleaner look until you add mulch.
2. Add Mulch. Adding mulch to your garden and tree beds makes them pop and gives your yard a tidy look. It also adds nutrients to the soil for your flowers, bushes, and trees.

3. Cut grass. Your grass may be a bit tall and uneven after winter. With temperatures rising, it’s probably starting to grow. Cutting your grass for the first time this season gets it ready for the fertilizers you’ll need. Once applied, your grass will really green up and begin rapidly growing throughout spring.
