5 REASONS YOUR PLANTS ARE NOT THRIVING

There are five reasons your plants are not thriving. This is because caring for plants is similar to caring for children. We say this from the perspective that while your kids might be alike, they often have different needs. So, the one size fits all approach does not always work when caring for your plants.

Therefore, you should review and understand the care instructions that come with your plants. These directions typically tell you what type of care is needed. You should follow these guidelines as closely as possible for the best results.

However, if you find a different approach works for your plants, we suggest continuing with that method. The goal is to find the best techniques for keeping your plants healthy and thriving. But, if you have struggled with a few or all of your plants, the following reasons can cause unhappy plants.

Insects

Insects are a common reason plants become unhealthy. Although, it’s significant to understand that some insects are helpful to plants, such as bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. These bugs help perform vital tasks like distributing pollen.

Alternatively, harmful insects can damage and destroy plants if not controlled. That’s why it’s vital to look for signs of insect infestations or damage. Insects cause damage by eating through leaves and roots, which can ultimately kill plants. Checking for these signs allows you to appropriately treat this problem with an insecticide

There are four more reasons why your plants may not be thriving. We explored the first reason in this post. Check back each week from August thru mid-September to understand the other reasons that can prevent healthy, happy plants.
