QUESTION FROM READER:
Lately, I’ve noticed beetles are eating my roses. I’m also seeing black spots on the leaves. Is there something I can do to stop both of these problems, and is there a way to prevent them from happening again?
GL365 RESPONSE:
Dear Reader,
Great question! With summer here, insects and fungus are two issues you must be concerned with. Spring through fall is when bugs are most active. Summer is also when fungus and other diseases thrive in the heat and humidity. But there is a solution!
To treat and prevent both issues, we use BioAdvanced 3-in-1. Before using this product, we had the same problem. Tons of beetles feasting on our beautiful roses and leaving holes. We also had unsightly black spots. But, now we treat our roses in early spring as a preventative measure and re-apply the product every 30-45 days to maintain protection.
Nothing works perfectly, but we have found this product to be the most effective (Look at our roses now!). BioAdvanced also offers a product with fertilizer, insect, and disease control. We have used this product too. However, we switch between the two products since we also use a different brand of fertilizer on our plants through the seasons.

Neem oil is another product we love. We find that our plants respond very well to it, and it protects them from insects and fungus. The downside is it must be applied more often, about every 7-14 days. Since we prefer longer-lasting protection, we only use neem oil to spot-treat indoor and outdoor plants that we don’t use the BioAdvanced on. You’ll want to check out our post on August 30th for more information on neem oil.
